Bull Island Wooden Bridge Inspection

Dublin Port Company will be carrying out a structural Inspection on Bull Island Wooden Bridge commencing on Monday 11th of July at 9.00am.

The structural inspection will involve the placing of sensors along the bridge and allowing vehicles to pass over the bridge to determine a bridge deck/floor slab capacity by use of a dynamic bridge testing system (DBTS).

A temporary traffic management plan will be put in place in the morning of the 9th July and removed at 4.00pm the same day.

Local access will be maintained for both vehicles and pedestrians however traffic will be stopped periodically for a short period of time (5 minutes) in order to place the sensors.

Throughout the testing process at least one side of the bridge will be open to pedestrians with other partially open.

Inspections of the underside of the bridge will continue Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th with no further disruption to traffic or pedestrians.

We thank you for your co-operation and patience and apologise for any convenience these works may cause.
