The upcoming “Picnic on the Prom” event is a local celebration of the North Bull Wall, the iconic Wooden Bridge, and the beautifully refurbished shelters.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 22nd, from 12 PM to 3:30 PM.

What to Expect on the Day:

The day’s journey begins bright and early at 12 noon, meeting at the Wooden Bridge on the Prom. Here, you’ll kick things off with a captivating talk on the rich history of the North Bull Wall, the Wooden Bridge itself and Bull Island.

From there, we’ll embark on a lovely walk along the Prom. Our next stop will be the newly refurbished Linear Shelter at the slipway. Get ready for another interesting talk, this time focusing on the exciting restoration project. You’ll also have the chance to explore the shelter, which will be transformed into a fantastic exhibition featuring photographs and original artwork by talented local artists!

Our stroll continues to the Bandstand Shelter, just after the Baths, where another talk will delve into the history of the Prom itself. And then? It’s time to find your perfect spot! Throw down your blankets, unpack your picnic and relax as you enjoy some lively music from local groups. What a perfect way to spend a summer’s afternoon!
