Seals in Dublin Bay/ January 2017

Did you know that there are two types of seals in Dublin Bay – the Harbour Seal and the larger Grey Seal?

All seals spend part of every day in the sea feeding and part of the day on land (hauled out) where they rest, digest their food and replace the oxygen that they need in their blood when they perform deep dives. In Dublin Bay there are regular seal haul-outs on the northern tip of Bull Island and on the rocks around Dalkey Island.
