What is ‘Dublin Discovery Trails’?
Dublin Discovery Trails is a first-of-its-kind immersive heritage and storytelling platform developed by Dublin City Council in partnership with Fáilte Ireland. Dublin Port has partnered with Dublin Discovery Trails to bring the Great South Wall to the platform, allowing visitors to experience it in a whole new way.

The Great South Wall Trail
Explore the fascinating heritage of the Great South Wall, one of Dublin’s most iconic coastal landmarks. Stretching into Dublin Bay, this remarkable feat of engineering offers spectacular views, rich maritime history and an abundance of wildlife. Follow the trail to uncover centuries of stories that have shaped Dublin’s harbour and coastline.
What You Need to Know:
- To use the platform for the Great South Wall trail, you must be on the Great South Wall when accessing the app, as it works off of GPS
- The app is free to download and use
- The app can be downloaded for both Apple and Android devices
