1. The Dublin Port Community Hero Award is organised by Dublin Port Company as part of the 25th anniversary of the Dublin Port Scholarship Programme.
  2. Nominations are open from 10th September until 23rd September 2026 at 11:59pm. Dublin Port Company reserves the right to extend or amend the nomination period where necessary.
  3. There is no fee to submit a nomination.
  4. Nominees must meet all eligibility requirements outlined. Dublin Port Company reserves the right to verify the eligibility of a nominee before confirming them as the recipient.
  5. A person may nominate more than one individual, provided a separate nomination is submitted for each person.
  6. More than one person may nominate the same individual. The number of nominations received for a person will not in itself determine the recipient; nominations will be assessed on the quality and impact of the contribution described.
  7. Dublin Port Company may contact the person making the nomination to request further information or clarification in relation to their submission.
  8. Nominees may also be contacted before the final selection is made to confirm their eligibility, obtain any necessary consent and verify information contained within the nomination.
  9. All eligible nominations will be reviewed by an appointed judging panel. The recipient will be selected based on the positive impact they have made on an individual, group or community and the strength of the story provided in the nomination.
  10. The decision of the judging panel will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the selection process.
  11. One recipient will receive the Dublin Port Community Hero Award, a personal prize of €1,000, and an additional €2,000 contribution to a local club or registered charity of their choice.
  12. The selected club or charity must meet any eligibility or verification requirements set by Dublin Port Company. The €2,000 contribution will be paid directly to the approved organisation and will not be provided as cash to the award recipient.
  13. The award and prizes are non-transferable, and no alternative will be offered, except at Dublin Port Company’s discretion where circumstances outside its control make this necessary.
  14. The selected Community Hero will be invited to attend the Dublin Port Scholarship 25th Anniversary Event on 15th October 2026, where the award is expected to be presented.
  15. By accepting the award, the recipient may be asked to participate in reasonable publicity relating to the campaign, including photography, video or social media content. Any use of personal images, video or testimonial content should be subject to appropriate consent.
  16. Personal information submitted as part of the nomination process will be processed by Dublin Port Company for the purpose of administering the Community Hero campaign, assessing nominations, contacting nominators and nominees, and presenting the award.
  17. Nominators should only provide personal information about the nominee that is necessary for the nomination and should not include sensitive or confidential information unless they have an appropriate basis for doing so.

  19. Dublin Port Company reserves the right to reject nominations that are incomplete, illegible, fraudulent, offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, inappropriate or otherwise inconsistent with the spirit of the Community Hero Award.
  20. Dublin Port Company reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the campaign where circumstances beyond its reasonable control make this necessary.
  21. By submitting a nomination, the nominator confirms that the information they have provided is true and accurate to the best of their knowledge and that they agree to these Terms and Conditions.
