Colleen’s future took flight.

For Colleen, the Dublin Port Scholarship provided practical support at an important stage in her education. It helped cover the everyday costs of getting to and from college and buying the materials she needed, while also giving her access to additional learning supports. Just as importantly, the Scholarship Programme gave her the chance to meet new people and build confidence as she considered her future.

Colleen initially studied Mechanical Engineering, but her ambition had always been to fly. When the opportunity came to change direction, she took it. Today, she is a Captain with Aer Lingus and remains closely connected to the Dublin community she came from, including through Stella Maris Rowing Club and local schools, youth services and community organisations. Looking back, Colleen strongly believes the Dublin Port Scholarship helped change the trajectory of her life and supported her on the journey towards the career she has today.
