The ABR2 Project is a proposal to complete parts of the original Alexandra Basin Redevelopment (ABR) Project that received planning permission in 2015 but were not fully completed before that permission expired in 2025.
It is about completing essential works at Alexandra Basin and Berths 52/53, which for a variety of reasons was not possible to complete within the previously consented 10 year planning consent.
The original project delivered major improvements to the port. The ABR2 Project focuses only on the remaining elements needed to finish that work.
