Board Of Dublin Port Company appoints Eamonn O'Reilly as new CEO

The Board of Dublin Port Company today announced the appointment of Mr. Eamonn O’Reilly as its new Chief Executive on the retirement of Mr. Enda Connellan, the current Chief Executive.  Mr. O’Reilly will take up his appointment in early August 2010.

Eamonn O’Reilly joins Dublin Port Company from Portroe Stevedores where he was Chief Executive of the Dublin Port-based cargo handling business since 2005. He also held the role of Group Business Development Manager of Portroe’s parent company, Doyle Shipping Group, during that time. Prior to joining the Doyle Shipping Group he was Business Development Manager for Securicor Ireland. An electrical engineer by profession, he is a graduate of University College Dublin and holds an MBA from Trinity College Dublin. He has also worked as a management consultant with KPMG and previously served as Chief Executive of Marine Terminals Limited in Dublin Port between 1992 and 1996.

Announcing the appointment, Ms. Lucy McCaffrey, Chairperson, Dublin Port Company said: “The Board is pleased to appoint a leader with the experience and skills to ensure Dublin Port Company continues to play its important role in driving economic growth at the heart of the economy. Dublin Port Company has been transformed in recent years and is in excellent shape for the future as it confidently faces into the challenges ahead. Reporting to the Chairperson and the Board and working closely with stakeholders, staff, customers, and the broader community, Mr. O’Reilly will develop and implement the Company’s strategic plan which will result in strong commercial growth and continued profitability for Ireland’s principal port.”
