The opening times of the “Samuel Beckett Bridge” will be restricted to the following:
No opening between : 06:30 hrs to 10:00 hrs & 15:00 hrs to 20:00 hrs
Commercial Traffic
Bridge will be opened for Commercial traffic as and when required but subject to :-
a) the specified “no opening” times
b) a minimum of 24 hours notice.
c) road traffic at that time.
If tugs are being used then the latest opening time will be 1 hour earlier than the stated no opening time.
Leisure Craft:
Bridge will be opened for leisure craft subject to the following:
a) a minimum of 24 hours notice
b) Opening Times 04:00 hrs to 06:00 hrs & 20:00 hrs to 22:00 hrs
These restrictions may be varied on a case-by-case basis, depending upon circumstance, and only with the permission of the Harbour Master.
The Port Traffic signals used for the lifting span are as follows:
3 Vertical Red Lights to mean vessels shall not proceed.
3 Vertical Green Lights to mean vessels may proceed. (One way traffic only).
3 vertical Red Lights FLASHING to mean Emergency – all vessels stop or divert.
Communication with the operator can be made on VHF radio Channels 12 and 13 call sign “East Link”.
Clearance under bridge = 6.10 metres above Chart Datum (2.00 metres at M.H.W.S.)
