A hundred flowers to bloom is a Public Art Project sited within Dublin Port and East Wall community. This area being historicially the main port of entry to Ireland, would have witnessed the majority of 'botanic migrants' in transit.
A year long collaboration between Liverpool based artist David Jacques and Children form St. Joseph's Co-Educational School East Wall, entailed an extensive study of the subject.

Through visits to The National Botanic Gardens, internet research and the production of detailed ink drawings, 100 pupils produced their own portfolios, each choosing a specific plant to research. These drawings were subsequently used to realise 100 silk embroideries (mounted and installed at St. Joseph's), 100 painted banners (displayed at Dublin Port)
In June 2006, our '100 Flowers to Bloom' community art project was unveiled by An Taoiseach Bertie Ahern T.D., with 100 hand painted banners displayed in Terminal One forming an attractive visual for those travelling through Dublin Port.
