Dublin Port Company has always recognised the importance of the local community.  Even before the emergence of what has more recently become known as Corporate and Social Responsibility Dublin Port Company supported a range of social, environmental, sporting and educational initiatives which benefit the community that has such close links with the port.

In 2010 Dublin Port Company was commended by Chambers Ireland's Corporate Social Responsibility Awards for the Company's continued commitment to a number of programmes including supporting Clann Na nGael Fontenoy Gaa Club, Ringsend and District Response to Drugs, the Rinn Voyager Project, Community Scholarship Programme and investments in interactive whiteboards for three local schools.

Dublin Port Company was shortlisted by Chambers Ireland in 2010 for the Outstanding Achievement award. Chambers Ireland recognises the Company's CSR commitment stating 'Dublin Port Company has always recognised the importance of their local community.
